EXPLORE: ECO-TOURISM

There are a number of ways to experience and find out more about the natural beauty of the Cowichan, from the great watersheds that have created the fertile Cowichan and Chemaninus valleys, to the teeming coastal water ecosystems.

A visit to the the ancient rain forests of the Carmanah and the Walbran provides a unique insight into the majestic ecosystems that are part of the Cowichan.

Exploring the migratory birds at Somenos Marsh, in the Cowichan Bay estuary, or other bird watching  areas offers an ever changing adventure.

Those that choose to explore beyond the obvious will never tire of the adventures the Cowichan provides, as each season offers new experiences.

A great way to start is to learn from the experts and take in a guided tour. A variety of guided tours are available, including rainforest tours, kayaking the coast, farm tours and mushroom picking tours in season.
